In 2004, Mr. Wang Jianfeng founded Joyson Electronics, formerly known as the Ningbo Joyson Company. Right from the beginning, the firm adopted the concept of synchronous design with the automotive OEMs, with products ranging from the engine air intake systems, air vents and so on. By 2006, the company began to supply to Volkswagen, General Motors and Ford.
In 2008, Joyson Electronics qualified as a Tier 1 supplier to VW,became a global supplier to GM. Through continuous, innovative development, the company grew to hold leading positions in the Chinese primary products market.
In 2010, together with the Preh Group in Germany, Joyson Electronics established a joint venture called Ningbo Preh Joyson Automotive Electronics Co. Then in June 2011, it successfully acquired the Preh Group in a deal which has been widely viewed as one of the top 10 overseas merger-acquisitions by a Chinese company that year. Thus, in addition to its domestic manufacturing R&D bases, Joyson Electronics expanded its operations to Germany, U.S.A., Portuga,Romania, Mexico and other places.
In December 2011, Joyson Electronics went public through a reverse merger on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, thus becoming a global automotive electronics company holding multiple key intellectual property rights in China. Base on the combination of capital market and industrial development, Joyson has developed rapidly in these areas such as automotive intelligent driving and E-Mobility, etc.
At the beginning of the year 2016, Joyson finished acquiring the world's leading automotive safety supplier KSS and the car connectivity technology supplier TS. In 2018, Joyson acquired Takata assets in the auto safety area again. To integrate the KSS and Takata assets, the combined company will be rebranded Joyson Safety Systems. Moreover, with four core businesses go hand in hand, Joyson get a springboard for the new journey of development through this integration.
